Empowering the Richards Bay community since 1998 through shared financial growth.
Ziphakamise Co-operative Bank is a democratic financial institution where members save money as a collective to empower each other financially and improve the local economy. We offer members the chance to have control over their finances by investing and circulating their savings within the community.
Our journey began when the idea was conceptualized in 1998. By 1999, we were officially launched at Bell Equipment in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. In 2017, Ziphakamise reached a major milestone by officially registering as a Co-operative bank. Today, we are proud to be fully registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and regulated by the South African Reserve Bank.
Our mission is to be a dynamic, self-sustaining, member-owned financial Co-operative that empowers all our members by providing them with the most affordable products and services that meet their needs.
Our core values guide every decision we make for our members.
Open to all persons able to use our services and accept responsibilities.
One member, one vote. Actively participating in setting policies.
Members contribute equitably to the capital of their co-operative.
Self-help organisations controlled solely by their members.
We provide education so members can contribute to the bank's development.
We serve members best by working together through local and regional structures.
We work for the sustainable development of our Richards Bay community.
Guided by democratic principles, ensuring transparency and compliance.
