Our Story & Mission

Empowering the Richards Bay community since 1998 through shared financial growth.

Who We Are

Ziphakamise Co-operative Bank is a democratic financial institution where members save money as a collective to empower each other financially and improve the local economy. We offer members the chance to have control over their finances by investing and circulating their savings within the community.

Our journey began when the idea was conceptualized in 1998. By 1999, we were officially launched at Bell Equipment in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. In 2017, Ziphakamise reached a major milestone by officially registering as a Co-operative bank. Today, we are proud to be fully registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and regulated by the South African Reserve Bank.
